Saying Goodbye to the Girls Who Started It All
This season brought a big change for our farm—one that was both emotional and exciting for our future. Over the past few weeks, we said goodbye to the last of our original starter herd: Pollen, Tory, and Dahlia. These does were a huge part of our beginnings, helping us build our foundation, grow our breeding program, and learn more than we ever expected.
Letting them go wasn't easy. Each of them played a special role in shaping the herd we have today, and seeing their stalls empty feels a little strange. But as our herd continues to expand and evolve, we needed to make room for the next generation of kids.
We're grateful that all three have moved on to wonderful new homes where they'll continue to be loved and appreciated. Knowing that they will have the opportunity to shine in new herds makes the transition a little easier.
Even though we miss seeing their familiar faces in the barn, we're excited for what's ahead. Our focus now is on the does we've raised ourselves—animals that represent years of careful planning, improvement, and dedication. With kidding season on the horizon, we can't wait to meet the new kids who will carry our program forward.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our herd from the very beginning. Change isn't always simple, but it's part of growing, learning, and moving forward—and we're grateful to be on this journey.
